Serve DC has several additional resources to help young people find age-appropriate DC-based volunteer opportunities to fulfill community-service requirements, boost resumes and college applications, or for their own personal fulfillment.
Volunteer.dc.gov is a free, online District of Columbia-specific volunteer opportunity database and search engine. Volunteer.dc.gov connects residents with meaningful District-based volunteer opportunities and connects community-based organizations and others with the city’s cadre of dedicated, experienced volunteers.
Serve DC supports DC community-based organizations with volunteer recruitment through its Volunteer Bulletin, a periodic e-listing of local volunteer opportunities.
Serve DC sends out a monthly email newsletter and other periodic mailings that list upcoming service and volunteer opportunities, events and initiatives. Join Serve DC's mailing list!
Mayor's Community Service Awards
The Mayor's Community Service Awards are an annual opportunity to recognize individuals who make a significant contribution to District communities. Nominations are open to individuals of all ages and include a specific category for youth under 18. Nominees must be District residents and volunteer and service activities must take place in the District of Columbia.
