Looking for Volunteer Opportunities? Check out our My Brother's Keeper one-day volunteer recruitment fair hosted by EZ Street (WKYS-93.9 FM Radio Personality), Serve DC - The Mayor's Office on Volunteerism and the Taproot Foundation on August 17, 2016 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
The My Brother's Keeper one-day volunteer recruitment fair will have 40 nonprofit and government agencies that provide direct interaction volunteer opportunities with young boys and men of color to inform volunteers of their organization's needs, register volunteers based on their interests and skills with their organizations' programs and activities to form a partnership to invest in the lives of our city’s young people.
In 2014, President Obama launched the My Brother's Keeper initiative to address persistent opportunity gaps faced by boys and young men of color and ensure that all young people can reach their full potential.
Through this initiative, the Administration is joining with cities and towns, businesses, and foundations who are taking important steps to connect young people to mentoring, support networks, and the skills they need to find a good job or go to college and work their way into the middle class.
If you have a specialized career skill that could provide support and services in the areas of education, healthy futures and economic opportunity for boys and young men of color (such as accounting, art, carpentry, engineering, mathematics, science, technology, web design, etc.) we need you!
Together we can build a Pro Bono City of skilled professionals volunteering and mentoring young boys and men of color to support today’s youth.
